Dove's Purely Pampering Pistachio Cream with Magnolia Review
I've always been a fan of Dove. Even before my dermatologist suggested that I use it for my eczema, I was buying the classic white bars in bulk from Costco. I was recently able to try Dove's new scent, Dove Purely Pampering Pistachio Cream with Magnolia, and let me tell you, I've been having dreams about this scent!
I can't get enough of body wash and beauty bar in this scent. I can't say that it smells like pistachios (not really sure what pistachios smell like), but the fresh fruity smell mixed with a bit of floral is out this world. It fills my bathroom with the refreshing scent but isn't too overpowering for first thing in the morning.
I'm partial to the body wash since it's super moisturizing, combining Dove's NutriumMoisture technology with mild cleansers, which is just want my sensitive skin needs. I was hesitant to try a scented body wash but so far, it's been very gentle on my skin.
If I've enticed you with my review, check back tomorrow to enter to win a set of Dove's Purely Pampering Pistachio Cream with Magnolia Body Wash & Beauty Bar for yourself to try!
Note: This review includes products that I received as samples, provided by the brand company or a PR rep. Please click here for more information regarding my disclaimer.

Jurlique Purely Bright Mist
I usually steer away from testing out new skincare products because my skin is so sensitive, but I received a sample of Jurlique Purely Bright Mist and was very intrigued! I have been using it for the past 2 weeks before I put my moisturizer on in the morning and am loving how it makes my skin feel and look. I can tell it helps to give my moisturizer an extra boost and my skin looks, and feels, more hydrated after using it. With the winter we've been having here in Michigan, I need all the moisture boost I can get!
Jurlique's Purely Bright Mist contains "VitaBrightKX and features Kakadu Plum, the world's richest natural fruit source of Vitamin C, and a potent blend of botanicals including Daisy to help hydrate and soften skin for a radiant glow.
I use about 2 sprays on my face and 2 on my neck and chest when I get out to he shower, wait for it to soak in, and then apply my moisturizer. The floral scent is really nice for a morning pick up me up!
Jurlique is an Australian brand that uses natural ingredients, along with natural innovations, to create their products. This is the first product I've tried from this brand and am so happy I did. I'll definitely be trying more of their products. You can buy Jurlique Purely Bright Mist on their site, Jurlique.com.

Clean Eating with KIND Granola
As much as I love making homemade clean eating granola and snacks for travel, I'm not superwoman. I only have so many hours in the weekend that allow me to cook and bake from scratch, and I usually prioritize cooking our main meals over desserts and snacks.
When I don't have time to create healthy snacks on my own, I turn to KIND Healthy Snacks. I have been a huge fan of KIND bars for a long time now. I always have one packed in my laptop bag and suitcase for hunger emergencies. My favorite is the Peanut Butter & Dark Chocolate + Protein bar. These all natural bars are a life saver! One can hold me over between meals and I don't have to feel guilty over it tasting so good.
KIND also makes granola. Recently I was lucky enough to receive some samples of their granola clusters. My favorite flavor was the Peanut Butter Whole Grain Clusters. Absolutely delicious! If you like peanut butter, you'll love this granola.
This flavor is protein packed, with a blend of peanuts and whole grains. One serving contains 16kg of whole grains!
I put a half a cup full in a baggie for my travels and made yogurt parfaits one night with my hubby. Here's my Clean Eating Yogurt Parfait recipe:
Start with 6 oz. of Greek yogurt (I used Fage), and add toppings! My mix of toppings include:
- KIND Granola (Peanut Butter Whole Grain, but all flavors taste delicious)
- Fresh blueberries
- Fresh strawberries
- Unsweetened coconut
- Extra dark chocolate chips
- Sprinkles
This is also a fun snack to make with kids. When I have my niece and nephew over I put all of the toppings in different bowls and let them add the toppings to their individual yogurt bowls. It's a 'build your own yogurt parfait' bar!
You can buy KIND granola from the KIND website, Soap.com and Walmart.

Giveaway Break - Vaseline Rosy Lips and MarieBelle Chocolates
Who knew something so tiny could bring so much joy into my
life…check out my latest obsession: Vaseline Lip Therapy Rosy Lips. Anyone who
knows me (or has read my blog in the past) knows that I keep a tube of lip balm
everywhere in my life. In my coat pocket, in my purse, in my laptop bag, in my
suitcase, in my car, etc. I can’t go without lip balm for more than an hour.
My favorite type of moisturizing balm is petroleum based, so
obviously Vaseline has made an appearance in my bags. I recently got a sample
of the Rosy Lips mini jar and fell in love. The light rosy hue it leaves on
lips is just gorgeous. And it’s just as moisturizing as regular Vaseline, which
makes it a win-win. And the cute size also helps its appeal.
This mini jar retails for about $2 at drugstores, but you can also try to win for yourself below!

Lisa Hoffman Fragrance Jewelry
When looking for a new fragrance, I always go after one that transitions nicely from day to night. Since I sit close to teammates at work and I'm in and out of conference rooms, I don't want to wear anything that's super strong or overpowering.
I recently came across Lisa Hoffman's Fragrance Jewelry and thought: "this is genius." Stylish, wearable fragrance that isn't overbearing. It's the perfect amount of fragrance. I tried the Tuscan Fig scent and loved it's vanilla bean notes. The rose gold fragrance charm is so pretty too. Perfect accent to an outfit.
Other brilliant things about this product:
- It's travel friendly! You don't have to add it to your quart size baggie through security and you don't have to worry about it breaking in your bag.
- It's double duty - both stylish jewelry and fragrance.
- It's refillable. Unlike perfume where you have to buy a new bottle once out, with Fragrance Jewelry, you just have to buy new fragrance beads.
Lisa Hoffman also has a new Black Collection. It's so sleek! And it will go with so many different outfits. I also like the wooden bead bracelet. Super cute for layering!
Have you tried Fragrance Jewelry before? If so, what do you think? What's your favorite piece in the collection?

LAQA & Co. Fat Lip Pencil Review
I love finding new makeup brands. It's like finding a hidden gem! I was recently introduced to LAQA & Co. by Gloss48. They are a New York based cosmetic company that sets the bar high for their products. They focus on convenience for their products, which I can definitely appreciate it!
I was able to try out their Fat Lip Pencils, which are glossy lip pencils in a handy jumbo pencil. You may cringe when thinking of a lip pencil, usually dry, and always seem to need sharpening, but these are different. Fat Lip Pencils are super glossy and no sharpener needed. They twist up when they get low.
I was able to try out Wolfman, which is a creamy soft pink, and Fairyblood, which is a shimmery peach. Wolfman is my new go-to gloss. I'm a pink girl, and I can wear this during the day and out at night. And no extra gloss needed, these are pretty shiny!
Fun fact about the packaging: LAQA & Co. uses young artists looking to get their work seen by lots of people to design their packaging. The artists also get a cut of the profit from every product purchased...so cool!
For 2 more days, Gloss48 is having a sale on a set of two LAQA & Co. Lil' Lips, which are two mini size Fat Lip Pencils. Normally $16, these are on sale for $12.

Julia Louis Dreyfus 2014 Golden Globes Look by Votre Vu
Celebrity makeup artist Karen Kawahara created the look for Julia Louis Dreyfus at the 2014 Golden Globes using Votre Vu products. The bright orangey-red color dress inspired her to focus the look on a stronger eye with a lighter lip.
“Votre Vu Attentive Crème du Jour was used to prep the skin while the Amour D’Ore Multi-Vitamin Oil was placed applied to her body before hair and nails to ensure that it had time to absorb into the skin. I also applied a little bit of the Luxee Yeux as well around the eye contour.
I applied the Love Me Deux Foundation in Cannes to the entire face and concealed the under eye with a mixture of the Lingerie Pour Les Yeux in Light and Medium.
I also used the Lingerie Pour Les Yeux in Light all over the lids and applied powder on top of it to ensure that the eyeshadows lasted all night. I like to apply eyeliner first to create the shape I want in the eye and then shadow on top of that. I used Le Joli Crayon in Charbon and pushed it in between the lashes, then started with a very thin line in the inner eye, gradually getting thicker towards the outside. I added a little wing on the corners to give the eyes a lift. To create a popping eye, I used Votre Vu’s Palette in Play in Copper. The lightest vanilla shadow was placed towards the inside of the eye and the lighter copper color was brushed over about ¾ of the outside lid.
I also, very lightly, lined the inside of the eye with a burgundy color. The darker copper color in the Palette in Play was also placed close to the bottom lashes underneath the eye. To finish off the eyes, I used Eiffel Power Mascara as well as some individual lashes.
Vu-On Rouge Color Accent in Bouquet Rose was used to give some color on the lip and cheeks. I applied all over the cheek using my finger. I wanted to create pale lip, so I used a lip brush to apply the color and went over with soft coral for a bit of sheen.
I mixed the Arch de Triumphe in Fair and Dark Brown to go over the brows since I didn’t want them to seem too dark.
Then I used the Beaute en Bronze Blush which was very sheer and then applied the Dior Blush in Amber on top for a bit more color.
Lastly, I set her makeup with Belle Poudre in Light.” Press release provided by Fournier PR + Consulting

Clean Eating Peanut Butter Cups Recipe
Happy New Year all! I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday! I sure did, as you can probably tell from my lack of posting, we've been very busy throughout the holiday! Lots of visiting with family and friends, and I loved every minute of it.
I thought it would be fun to share one of my favorite clean eating desert recipes to kick off the new year. Clean Eating Peanut Butter Cups. They got rave reviews from the parties I brought them too this year. They are super yummy. Clean eating doesn't mean bland eating, it can be fun too! Below is a modified version of the recipe from HeandSheEatClean.com (love this blog...I get a lot of clean recipes from it!).
Ingredients:
3/4 cup all natural peanut butter (make sure the only ingredient is peanuts!)
1 heaping tablespoon of natural honey
20 oz of chocolate, 60% cacao, I used 2 bags of Giradelli chips
Mini cupcake paper cups
1 - Mix the peanut butter and honey together and set aside
2 - Melt chocolate chips in the mircowave in 30 second intervals, stirring after each 30 seconds.
3 - Once chocolate is completely melted, pour enough into each little cup to cover the bottom
4 - Layer on a dab of the peanut butter mixture in each cup
5 - Cover the peanut butter mixture with another layer of chocolate
6 - Freeze cups for an hour and the voila! Clean eating peanut butter cups!
This recipe makes about 50 small cups. I purchased a decorative holiday tray from my local grocery story and arranged them on this for the parties I went to. The tray was a nice leave behind as a hostess gift.
What did you bring to holiday parties this year? Or if you hosted, what did the menu include? Please share!
