Suave Professionals Shines on the Red Carpet with Hailee Steinfeld

Hailee Steinfeld, "Best Supporting Actress" nominee for "True Grit," turned to Jenny Cho, Suave Professionals Celebrity Stylist for her elegant updo.

"I was so inspired by her pale pink Marchesa dress and the dripping beads. I wanted to create a hairstyle that was a cross between Audrey Hepburn and a ballerina. Pulling Hailee's hair up really showed off her neck and having the hair show from the front gave the illusion of elongating her like a ballerina. The headband made the look young and age appropriate," says Jenny Cho, Suave Professionals Celebrity Stylist.

Follow Suave Professionals Celebrity Stylist, Jenny Cho's tips to make this look your own:

1. Layer Suave Professionals Heat Protection Spray (to protect hair from heat) and Suave Professionals Sleek Anti-Frizz Cream to damp hair and blow dry with a Mason Pearson brush to smooth hair and help fight any unwanted frizz and flyways.

2. Make a high ponytail using a brush to smooth as you go.

3. Spit the ponytail into two. Spray Suave Professionals Touchable Finish Lightweight Hold Hairspray to the two sections and tie a knot as if you're making a bow. Keep knotting until you run out of hair. Secure with bobby pins and "U" shaped pins.

4. Spray hairspray to a toothbrush and brush back any flyaways to define and polish the look. Mist entire look with hairspray and spritz Suave Professionals Vibrant Shine Spray to finish the look.

5. For an added bit of glam, add a glittery headband.
All Suave Professionals products mentioned are MSRP $2.69 - $2.99. Suave Professionals products are available at drugstores, mass merchandisers and supermarkets natiowide. Please let me know if you’d images of any of the above mentioned products.

Mandy Moore Wears NARS at the Oscars

NARS worked with celebrity makeup artist Kayleen McAdams to create the look for Tangled’s Mandy Moore who stepped out both on the red carpet and on stage at tonight’s Academy Awards. Please see below for details regarding each look.

ON THE RED CARPET: “We wanted her makeup to have a strong pop,” said Kayleen about Mandy’s red carpet lips. “I was so inspired by all the coral and orange lips on the runway for spring so I did a tangerine version on the lips and cheeks." Below are the NARS products that Kayleen used to create Mandy’s red-carpet arrivals look:

o PRO-PRIME Pore Refining Primer (NEW for Spring 2011; exclusively available at Sephora)

o Sheer Matte Foundation

o Copacabana Illuminator (NEW for Spring 2011!)

o PRO-PRIME Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Base

o Corfu Cream Eyeshadow

o Coconut Grove Single Eyeshadow

o Larger Than Life Volumizing Mascara

o Red Square Velvet Matte Lip Pencil

ON STAGE: “We had to balance out her look because of the dress which we did by toning down the lip from a bright orange, to a flushed peach,” said Kayleen about the change. Keeping Mandy’s base the same, Kayleen used the following products:

o Copacabana Illuminator

o Silk Road Duo Eyeshadow

o Black Moon Eyeliner Pencil

o Larger Than Life Volumizing Mascara

o Hopi Velvet Gloss Lip Pencil (NEW for Spring 2011!)

Glamour's March Cover Girl: Diane Kruger

Diane Kruger is the March Glamour girl. Here are some excerpts from her interview:

On her love of fashion…
“I truly, genuinely like clothes. Making them is an art form, and wearing them is a form of self-expression. I find it very emotional because I can remember moments in my life—my mood, how I felt—through these clothes.”

On what her favorite look is…
“A well-cut dress. It’s all about the cut. I love three-quarter sleeves. I definitely like it classic; less is more. The thing I despise most is vulgarity, and there’s a lot of that here [in L.A.].”

On her biggest fashion splurge…
“The biggest fashion purchase I ever made I thought about for six years. I’m not kidding. All my life I wanted to own an Hermès Constance bag, and when I signed with Calvin Klein, I decided this was the time that I could afford it. I truly broke a sweat when I paid for it.”

On her boyfriend Joshua Jackson and his style…
“We go shopping. But he likes it. I definitely wasn’t fond of these blue sneakers that he wore all the time for about a year and a half.”

On realizing she wanted to pursue performing as a career…
“I’m from a small village [in Germany], and it never occurred to me that you could actually make a living performing. It was a hobby. I always thought you had to live in Hollywood. So the urge really came later, when I became a model.”

On marrying and divorcing when she was younger…
“Without sounding pessimistic, I learned that I don’t believe in marriage. I believe in a commitment that you make in your heart. There’s no paper that will make you stay.”

Her advice to young women pursuing their dreams…
“Ask questions. Surround yourself with people who will help you advance. You should be smart enough to know that you don’t know everything. But you have to believe in yourself. I certainly do.”

Pink Beauty Products that I *Heart*

Happy Valentine's Day to all! I hope everyone has a day filled with candy hearts, ping & red & LOVE :) Oh, and fun beauty products!Outrageously Delicious Hard Candy Flavored Body Powder
The best part about these shimmers is that they are flavored...they actually taste good! They leave a soft shimmer on your body with just a few sweeps. All shimmers seem to be the same, even though they are tinted different colors in the containers. Honey, Cocoa, Pink Sugar & Marshmallow - all produce a light shimmer, perfect for your neck, chest and shoulders.
You can find these at Walmart for $6.27 a pop!

AVON Glazewear Lip Gloss
This is a great gloss. Goes on smooth and stays on for a long time. I love it in Iced Pink (second one from the left in picture). It's super girly pink, with a hint of frost. You can buy these from your local AVON representative or order online at They are on sale for $2.99 right now (normally $6.)!!
All your beauty products need a place to belong, and that place should be stylish. Check out these personalized cosmetic bags by Perfect for organizing your cosmetics/jewelry at home, and perfect for traveling. The best part, you can personalize them, with your name or initials. These make wonderful gifts, specifically I'm thinking for bridesmaid gifts!I know this product is purple, but it's so good I have to include it. Dark Kiss by Bath and Body Work is my new favorite scent. It's vanilla-berry scented, and stronger than most of their (not in a bad way). The Shea Cashmere Hand Cream is amazing. A little on their pricier side, so wait for it to go on sale before splurging.

Valentine's Day Gift Ideas - Part 1

Need some ideas for fun Valentine's Day gift ideas for friends? Or girlfriends (boys - I'm talking to you!)? Here are some great products and sales:

The best part: a portion of the proceeds from the sale of her products, will be donated to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation and other organizations promoting breast cancer awareness.Bath & Body Works is really promoting Valentine's Day this year, they have tons of heart-themed items. I fell in love with these PocketBac anti-bacterial gels. There are 5 different 'love' themed ones, and right now they are $5 for 5. I bought them for my coworkers!

Super Bowl Sunday Manicure

Not into the Super Bowl? You're not alone. I'll be 'half' watching the game with friends, mainly tuning into commercials and the half time show. If you'll be partially tuning in, why don't you multitask and take care of your tips. Give yourself a fun DIY mani! Maybe paint them your team's colors? Mine would be black and yellow for tomorrow's game (Go Steelers!).

Manicure tips:
1) Remove old nail polish completely
2) File those nails! I like to keep them square, personally. A trick my friend Tina told me is to make sure you don't 'saw' them, going back and forth with the file, instead, file just one way, for example, right to left, it's better for the nail.
3) Buff'em! I like the 3 way buffer from Sally Beauty by Tropical Shine and the Lil' Whistler, which is easy to use because of it's shape.
4) Apply cuticle oil (I love Handbag Holiday and CND Solar Oil) and then soak the nails in warm, soapy water. Make sure to use a fun scented soap, dime size amount of your favorite body wash :)
5) Dry of your hands and push back cuticles gently with an orange wood stick or cuticle stick
6) Wash off cuticle oil (nail polish does not go over cuticle oil well) and make sure to lightly scrub over nails. You can use an exfoliater as well, to remove dead skin cells. Try Reversital as an exfoliater, helps hands look younger. Also works on elbows and removing self tanning mistakes :)
7) Base coat time, try Poshe 4-in-1 Treatment Base Coat
8) 1-2 coats of color (usually 2, unless you're using Avon, which goes on really well with just one). Make sure to wait at least 4-5 minutes in between coats, or else your nails will remain really sticky. Pictured to the right is Spa Ritual in Enlightened.
9) Top coat - I like Barielle's No-Chip Speed Dry
10) Now don't touch anything for 30 minutes! Well, maybe a small little Super Bowl snack, but be careful not to smudge'em!

A really good manicure kit that contains everything you need for a salon equivalent DIY is Ms. Manicure's Handy Dandy Mani contains everything you'll need to make your tips pretty.
