  • Jessica Cosmetics Heavy Petal Collection

I'm a huge fan of Jessica Cosmetics nail polish. They offer beautiful shades that are long wearing and go on very easily, usually streak free.

Their Spring 2012 Heavy Petal Collection is awesome. The collection is made up of different shades and finishes of pinks and purple. Each color has a solid version, a soft metallic version and light shimmer shade version (these are pretty sheer). From top left clockwise the colors are: Witchy Wisteria, Dased Dahlia, Hotter than Hibiscus, Rolling Rose, Born 2 Pansy, & Geranium Gypsy.

I used Dased Dahlia for a pedicure and it looked awesome. Rolling Rose & Born 2 Pansy are my favorites for a quick polish that will go with a lot of different outfits and since they are semi-sheer.

    San Francisco in a Weekend

This post is way over due. It was amazing to get away for a bit 2 weeks ago with the hubby. San Francisco is an amazing city. Lots of shopping, great food and sunshine. Super chilly at night and when the sun goes in, but I was prepared from my past experiences.

Even though I didn't make it to the gym in SF, I feel like I got an amazing workout from all the walking we did! Saturday morning we woke up early, had breakfast, and rented bikes. Yes, we were touristy, we rode our bikes across the bridge into Sausalito. So..much...fun...but a tough ride! 8 miles later we were dining in Sausalito, followed by coffee drinks before catching the ferry back to the city.

Sunday we explored some more, made it to the Coit Tower and a ton of parks, and did our fair share of people watching in North Beach.

If you plan on visiting San Francisco my tips are:
     - Bring comfortable walking shoes
     - Bring a jacket that transfers from day to night (jean jacket, blazer) because the city can go from what feels like 80 degrees to 50 degrees in a minute!
     - Wear sunscreen. The temperature is deceiving. It may be chilly, but if the sun is out you will burn!
     - Sit at an outdoor cafe and people watch. Lots to take in on the streets of SF :)
     - Rent bikes to get around and explore, and if you have it in you, ride them across the bridge - it was definitely the highlight of our trip!

Steps leading to the Coit Tower.
Cotton Nautical colored dress from Marshalls, Rebecca Minkoff MAB mini bag
View from the middle of the bridge
Flowers along the bay in Sausalito

Chai latte, cappuccino & people watching

    CND Shellac in Hollywood

This is the color I chose for my SF trip. It went with all of my outfits! CND Shellac's Hollywood is red hot red, with light gold specs. A great red that goes with a lot, and transfers well into summery months.

Sponsored Post: Rembrandt Intense Stain Dissolving Strips

It’s summer time in Michigan! Well, almost. It’s getting really nice out and it’s making me think of all the things I want to do and prepare for before summer is in full swing. Here’s my to-do list:

    1) I’ve kicked my workout routines up a notch and I’m preparing for my first kettlebell competition mid-May. I’ve also created a new recipe binder full of clean-eating recipes to help me feel healthier going into summer.
    2) In the beauty department, I’ve been bronzing like I was in the tropics, using self tanner, that is. I stay far away from tanning salons. I opt for self tanner 2-3 a week to keep up a natural glow.
    3) You know what looks nice with a bronzed glow? Pearly white teeth! I drink so much coffee and the occasional red wine that I’m afraid that I haven’t been treating my teeth good this winter.

I recently got to try out Rembrandt Intense Stain Stain Dissolving Strips and was really impressed! They are so much easier to use than any other whitening system I have tried before!

These strips are unique in several different ways. One way is that each strip can be used for your top OR bottom teeth. This way, you don't waste any! Some people only like to whiten their top or are maybe too sensitive to do their bottom, and then they end up wasting a box of strips because half are for bottom teeth.

The most exciting part of these strips is that they dissolve in your mouth – no more removal hassle! I put them on as I’m heading out the door to work and they dissolved during my 20 minute commute, or right before bed and fall asleep with them on.

Each strip is individually wrapped with clear instructions on the back on how to apply based on top or bottom teeth. Super easy for traveling...I just threw a couple in my makeup bag for my trip this week. Getting my teeth sparkling white for summer doesn't get any easier than this!
