OPI Announces Beauty Bus Foundation 2010 Beauty Drive Sponsorship

OPI joins The Beauty Bus Foundation as Presenting Sponsor for the first annual Beauty Drive fundraising event on April 25, 2010, at The Mark for Events in Los Angeles. Beauty Bus Foundation is a non-profit organization that provides free in-home beauty and grooming treatments to empower homebound, terminally and chronically ill people and their primary caregivers. The Beauty Drive will highlight beauty treatments from professional makeup artists, as well as manicurists from ROB|B – the nation’s first OPI Concept Salon.

OPI is delighted to sponsor The Beauty Bus Foundation’s first Beauty Drive fundraiser,” remarks Suzi Weiss-Fischmann, OPI Executive VP & Artistic Director. “I am a strong believer that nail lacquer color can change not only your look, but your outlook. Beauty Bus Foundation takes that concept to the next level and shows how a little bit of beauty can go a long way in brightening someone’s day.”

All proceeds raised by the event will go directly to support Beauty Bus Foundation. In addition to beauty treatments, the event will feature celebrity guest host Lisa Sigell (reporter, KCBS/KCAL), a silent auction, a hair show by Janine Jarman of BRAVO’s Shear Genius and an interactive gourmet brunch.

Pampered at AvaShay

I was feeling in need of some pampering last weekend and scheduled an appointment at AvaShay in Brighton, MI. Diane, the owner, creates a pampering environment with a mix of modern and shabby chic decor. I've always been greeted with an offer for a glass of wine...my kind of pampering.
For color, Diane used OPI She's Golden and then OPI Hong Kong Collection Pearl of Wisdom as a second coat of color. The pairing of these two colors turned out super pearly white...it was really pretty! She used Hot Dry as a top coat and then put my nails under a UV light. The manicure lasted about 5 days.
