CND Shellac swatches

Today was a day of CND Shellacing! My best friend Tina surprised with me a full on manicure before my business trip this week. Finger soaks, cuticle removal and even a massage. It was so relaxing!

I was debating between neutral Romantique and Asphalt - and decided on Asphalt (below). Bold move for a client presentation, but goes with both of my outfits, so I think I'm all set.

Tina did her nails in Masquerade & Mother of Pearl. She was feeling inspired by Carnival and Mardi Gras :) Along with her base and top coat, she used two coats of Masquerade and one coat of Mother of Pear. Rocking nails.

Think Spring with COVERGIRL NatureLuxe Gloss Balm

I really can't complain...it's February 14th (Valentine's Day!) and we just now got a few inches of snow in Michigan. It's around 20 degrees out and slippery, but it's pretty much the first time this winter we've had this much snow, so no sad faces here! I am just focusing on Spring, which is just around the corner :)

This Spring you can find me with my sunglasses on (just got lasik!), a dress, and lots of SPF for my face and body. For those who know me, I'll also have a lipgloss in hand, preferably with SPF.

Currently my lipgloss of choice is CoverGirl's new NatureLuxe Gloss Balm with SPF.  More of a balm than a gloss, it provides full color with a few swipes and is very moisturizing. I tried out Thistle, which is a pinkish purple and loved it. Definitely a Spring color that will go with everything.

Valentine's Day Prep - Part II

                                       

For those of you who didn't celebrate this weekend, make sure you are ready for tomorrow! Give yourself a last minute Valentine's Day themed mani, set the mood with candles, and start pouring some drinks!

Give yourself a mani with a pretty pink or red for Valentine's Day! Check out Pure Ice's crackle nail polish set. You can find these at Walmart, for a very reasonable price! Great to test out the Crackle effect if you haven't tried this trend already. Sparkle pink is the base, and the solid pink is the top Crackle coat. I used two coats of sparkle as a base and it looks awesome by itself. 

                                              

Set the mood this Valentine's Day with a candle from Bath & Body Works. Try out one of their new scents, like Jungle Kiss, which smells like lilies and peaches, with a hint of coconut.

Bath and Body Works 3-wick candles are my favorite. They burn around 30-45 hours, and can fill a really large room with their scent. They are made of the highest concentration of fragrance oils, an exclusive blend of vegetable wax and lead-free wicks for optimal performance. I always like to stock up on these for hostess gifts too :)

Themed drinks are the best. Check out POM Wonderful Pomegranate Juice and NUVO Sparkling Liqueur to make some pretty Valentine's Day themed drinks!

The POM Pink Angel

1 oz. POM Wonderful 100% Pomegranate Juice
1 1/2 oz. kurant vodka
1 oz. triple sec liqueur
1/4 oz. fresh lime juice (or squeeze 2 lime wedges into the shaker and drop them in)
Orange peel for garnish

NUVO Kiss
4 oz NUVO Sparkling Liqueur
1 1/2 oz Frangelico
Serve in a Champagne flute
