Hand Lotion Reviews

Along side all of the lip balms and lip glosses I have in my car, my desk, my bedroom, and in every purse...I have a hand lotion.
Here's the current line up:
I like this lotion for the car because it quickly soaks into my skin, and doesn't leave a bit of residue or slick feeling...perfect to use while driving, so your hands don't slide around the steering wheel. The Shielding Lotion transforms the 'outer layer of skin into a hydrating invisible shield.' Used and prescribed by dermatologists, this lotion is great for those with dry skin and that don't like to reapply lotion often. The instructions on the this bottle recommend every 2-8 hours until moisture level improves, then just 12-24 hours.
Retails at $18.
It's body lotion, but I use it on my hands and arms before I go to bed. The soothing scent of lavender is known to calm the senses, and act as a sleep aid. I'm no doctor, but if you have trouble falling asleep, or have restless nights, it could help to try the using the calming scent of lavender. Since this scent is officially 'Lavender Vanilla,' the smell of the flower isn't too overwhelming. Beautiful packaging, dark purple glass bottle, it's a staple for my nightstand.

At my desk....Crabtree & Evelyn La Source Rejuvenating Hand Cream
This was a holiday gift from my coworker...so sweet! I love the antique-ish packaging that Crabtree & Evelyn uses. La Source has a very distinct scent, kind of ocean-like, but not too overpowering for work. This formula leaves hands really soft and smooth, with a younger appearance. It's not too greasy so it doesn't leave any residue on my laptop while at work.

This formula contains a unique time-released capsule of antioxidants, which have been found to minimize the damaging effects of free radicals, while natural butters and oils have been added to moisturize the skin.
Retails at $25

Made from ingredients of Tahitian black pearl powder, seaweed and Dead Sea minerals, this hand cream leaves my hands soft and smooth. The pearl powder gently exfoliates, but not gritty like normal exfoliaters. It's non-greasy and has a wonderful smell to it, kind of similar to a men's cologne, but I can't exactly put my finger on the exact one. It stays on even after washing hands, scent and all, shielding them long-term from environmental effects. It also contains sunscreen filters, U.V.A., which is a definitely something I look for in a hand cream, especially in the summer months. It's a little bit higher of a price point, but contains twice as much as most moisturizers do.
Retails $28.25

In my purse...La Roche-Posay Lipikar Xerand Hand Repair Cream
This lotion should be labeled luxurious. This is my first experience with La Roche-Posay outside of sunscreen and I'm extremely impressed. It's non-oily and water-resistant, making it last even through hand washings. It uses glycerin, thermal spring water, and allantoin (softening agent) to banish dry, irritated, hands. It's unscented, which is why I keep it in my purse for my husband to use as well :)
Retails $13.50
