Holiday Party Prep Tips

'Tis the season of shopping, eating and...holiday parties! Here are some holiday prep tips for two extreme parties, 'ugly sweater' and 'work party.'

Ugly Christmas Sweater Party
Please let your sweater be the only ugly thing you are wearing! Try out Jessica Cosmetic's Shine On nail set to match your loud obnoxious sweater (these also make fun stocking stuffers and hostess gifts!). Here's a swatch of Superstar, a golden shimmer.

Hard Candy has a limited edition set of $1 glitter nail polishes that come with huge, over the top rings that will probably match your sweater to a tee. Also, you can sport one (or 2 or 3!) of their lipgloss rings which are sure to be a conversation piece. Here's an idea: wear all 5 rings ($5 for 5 piece set) and give them away to friends throughout the night :)

Formal Work Holiday Party
Make your appointments! If you plan on getting your hair, makeup or nails done, make your appointment early! I'm a huge fan of getting my makeup done at MAC. You can book an appointment at a MAC counter or store. You have to commit to spending at least $50 in MAC products in order to get your makeup done, but that's pretty easy to do.

For your nails, try out Shellac! There's nothing worse then having your hair, makeup, nails done, new dress on, on your way to your party, and you chip a nail. Try out Shellac so you don't have to worry about messing your nails up for the party, and since it lasts 10-14 days, depending on when you get them done, your manicure can last throughout the holidays!
Check out Goody Glam line of hair accessories to dress up your look. These super sparkly headbands come in a ton of colors are affordable. You can find them at your local Walmart store.

And most important tip of all...have fun!
