Dermalogica Dynamic Skin Recovery SPF 50 Review

I'm all about sunscreen in the spring and summer, and I usually use a higher SPF on my face when in the sun. I'm currently loving Dermalogica Dynamic Skin Recovery SPF 50. It's a daily moisturizer that provides great protection from the sun, while helping to minimize aging. It's a medium-weight moisturizer, and so far hasn't caused me any breakouts or rosacea (I've used it about 10x).

Dermalogica Dynamic Skin Recovery has no artificial fragrances, colors or parabens. Since it's a little bit thicker, I feel like I need to use a little more than my lighter moisturizer to get full coverage on my face. Plus, if I'm going to be in the sun, I like to make sure I'm evenly covered. This moisturizer blends in really well.

Some of the additional benefits listed on the Dermalogica site include:
 - long lasting hydration
 - controls triggers that lead to aging skin

This is the second Dermalogica product I have tried and have really enjoyed. Check out my review of Dermalogica Skin Hydrating Booster. Have you tried out Dermalogica products before? If so, which ones are your favorite? Please share in the comments below!

A tip from Dermalogica: always protect your skin with SPF on a daily basis to protect against skin-aging environmental assault.

Dermalogica Skin Hydrating Booster Review

It's now mid-April in Michigan, and it's been 70 and sunny the last few days, but just a week ago, it snowed! I'm sure everyone from the south are tired of hearing about this harsh winter, but trust me, it's taking a toll on everyone involved, both mentally and physically. When it's sunny out everyone seems to be in a great mood! But when it's cold, it's a downer! And it doesn't just have an effect on my mood. My poor, dry skin, has been suffering this winter too.

Normally I don't do much testing with skincare products. I have really sensitive skin and I usually don't like to rock the boat. But since we've had this extremely cold and dry weather, I've caved. I've been testing out several different moisturizers and treatments to help protect my skin against this weather.

One of the moisturizers I was able to test was Dermalogica Skin Hydrating Booster. I've seen great results from this product! I've been using it religiously under my moisturizer for about 3 weeks now and have been extremely happy with the results: softer skin, less redness in the morning, and no breakouts.

The consistency of this product is just like water, which is also the first ingredient. According to the site, it's suppose to not only help with redness but also with fine lines. It also contains hyaluronic acid, panthenol, glycolipids and algae extract. No artificial fragrances or colors are added.

The directions on the box suggest mixing this with your existing moisturizing, but I've been applying it directly to my skin, and then a layer of my moisturizer over it (sometimes). A little goes a long way, so I can see this 1 oz bottle lasting awhile.
It's hard to see because it looks like water!
A little goes a long way with this formula, and I can see this 1oz bottle lasting a long time. And after seeing really good results from this product, I definitely want to try out more Demalogica products. You can purchase Dermalogica from their site and also at Ulta Stores. This product retails for $56.

What's In My Beach Bag? - Volume 1

What's in my Beach Bag? Wouldn't you like to know! Every week I'm going to highlight a few items that I don't leave behind while I'm in the sun and on the water. I'll also include the hottest beach bags this summer, the first one being this adorable Juicy Couture bag. It comes with a matching towel that reads "Juicy says Relax!"

One of my 'vows' to myself this summer is to always use sunscreen. On my face, body, makeup, everything has to contain it. But, when you can't part with your favorite facial moisturizer that doesn't have sunscreen, what should a girl do??? Dermalogica Solar Defense Booster is a great solution for this. Instead of changing your staple facial product, you can mix equal amounts of Solar Defense Booster in with your moisturizer for full-spectrum protection. You can also use this alone for an SPF 30.

I used this product this past weekend when house boating in sunny, 90 degree weather, and no pink cheeks! I mixed it in equal parts with my moisturizer (this weekend was Oil of Olay, only brand they had at the QMart in Hyderabad) and it didn't alter the effectiveness of my moisturizer. The price point is more than I'm use to paying for sunscreen, but since I can use half the amount mixed in with my favorite moisturizer, and still get sun protection without worrying about sunscreen induced breakouts, I would say that it's a great investment and addition to any beach bag.

You can purchase the Solar Defence Booster at www. Dermalogica.com SRP: $43
