Total Beauty Break - Best Advice from Mom

Best Advice We Got from Mom

Our favorite beauty tips from -- yeah, we said it

Ever since we watched our mothers get ready for a night out (and snagged a bit of lipstick and eye shadow when they weren't looking), they've been sharing beauty tricks. From fighting wrinkles to looking gorgeous with or without makeup, we must admit we've learned a lot (see Mom, we were listening!). And even though "a lady never tells," we couldn't resist sharing our favorite gems of advice.

Makeup Brush Break - EcoTools Retractable Kabuki brush

This brush is a must for traveling gals. EcoTools Retractable Kabuki brush has been my staple as I've been traveling throughout India. This brush had me at 'retractable!' It sets my powder & bronzer beautifully, and feels like silk on my skin.

This earth-friendly powder brush also shows respect for the planet:
- Retractable case is made from Recycled Aluminum
- Synthetic taklon bristles are 100% cruelty free

EcoTools are also very reasonably priced as far as makeup brushes go. See? A perfectly guilt free purchase! Check out the ParisPresents.com website for the retailer nearest you.

Bronzer Break - Edward Bess Ultra Luminous Bronzer

Edward Bess Ultra Luminous Bronzer is voted 'Best Bronzer' by 2008 Self Magazine.

According to Self.com: "With tiny flecks of shimmer, this sheer powder in a sleek compact won over several followers, who touted its ‘natural, smooth bronzing results that aren't intense or streaky.’ No Oompa-Loompa stripes here!”

Ultra Luminous Bronzer is available in Daydream and Desert Sun, $48. Shop online at EdwardBess.com.

The Best and Worst Sunscreens

See which products will prevent your skin from looking lobster-like all summer long

Whether we like it or not, sunscreen is a must for all of us. And according to Heidi Waldorf, M.D. of Waldorf Dermatology & Laser Associates in Nanuet, NY, we need "an SPF of at least a 15 daily." No one wants to spend all summer slathering on sunblock, but with these reader favorites maybe it wont seem like such a chore.
